Telford Islamic Centre - Application form (download)
The education wing of SIF is the Telford Islamic Academy
We presently conduct
evening madrassa classes for Islamic education, for the community’s children at,
the Telford Islamic Academy.
Children are taught the following
Qura'an
Hifz![]()
Qaida
Tajweed
Hadith
Fiqh
We currently have 5 teachers. 3 male and 2 female. The madrassa has a strength of 50 boys and 30 girls and the numbers are increasing.
Madrassa Rules & Regulations
Attendance:
1. The front doors of the Madrassah will close at 5.00pm therefore all
students must be punctual.
Parents should not send their children to Madrassah before 4.45pm.
2. All students must attend punctually and notify of any absences by phoning or
sending a note the
following day.
3. Any student who is absent for more than five weeks without notification will
be automatically
removed from the Madrassah.
4. Any student who has high level of absenteeism may be asked to repeat the year
if they have not
covered the syllabus for that year.
Punctuality:
1. The Madrassah has a strict policy for students who arrive late. Any
student who arrives to
Madrassah 20 minutes late will not be given permission to enter (unless prior,
valid notification is given
by parents).
2. Any student who arrives late, within the 20 minute allowance will be allowed
to enter the
Madrassah taking into consideration that this does not occur more than twice in
a week. If the child is
late the third time they will not be allowed to enter the Madrassah and will be
sent home.
3. Students who have a record of arriving late will be asked to bring in their
parents to discuss the
matter. Students who arrive to Madrassah late on five occasions in a month will
be regarded as
frequent late comers.
Dressing & Hygiene:
1. Students are expected to adhere to the Sunnah clothing and appearance.
2. Students should dress in a clean and tidy manner at all times in order to
provide a hygienic learning
environment. In addition, students should cut their nails regularly so that
there is no accumulation of
dirt.
Holidays, leave & Early Leave:
1. In order to avoid damage to the student’s learning; holidays must not be
booked during the
academic year.
2. The Madrassah will not grant leave to any student for holidays exceeding ten
days (except in
exceptional circumstances).
3. Parents who want to take their child on Holiday are required to fill in a
‘Holiday Form’ available from
the office.
4. Parents are reminded that students cannot be given permission to leave
Madrassah early for
wedding invitations, Dawats etc.
5. Students will not be given permission to miss Madrassah to attend any
non-curricular activities.
6. Students are not granted permission to attend any regular activities, sports
etc during Madrassah
times.
Behaviour and Bullying Policy:
1. Mobile phones, toys, gadgets etc must not be brought to Madrassah. Any
such items found in the
possession of students will be confiscated.
2. All students should respect the property of the SIF. Any damage caused to
the SIF will
have to be paid for.
3. Students are obliged to respect each other, foul language and misbehaviour
will not be tolerated.
4. Any students found bullying or using physical abuse will be punished
accordingly, in no
circumstances will bullying be tolerated.
5. Constant behaviour problems or disruption of class will not be tolerated.
6. Parents are reminded that we cannot take the responsibility of students
outside of Madrassah
premises. Therefore, any problems outside the Madrassah should be personally
dealt with.
Nevertheless, if bullying is targeted outside of Madrassah we will take
necessary actions to resolve
the matter.
Lessons:
1. Students are required to learn all their necessary lessons.
2. Students are required to take all their Kitaabs & Qur’an home and ensure they
bring them daily to
Madrassah for lessons.
3. Students are expected to cover the work missed in any lessons if absent.
4. All work set in lessons should be completed.
5. No student is to leave the class or the TIA's premises without prior
permission from the Teacher
and office.
6. Disrespect towards the Teacher will not be tolerated. Any student
disrespecting the Teacher will be
immediately expelled.
7. Any form of misbehaviour, be it talking, eating or not concentrating will be
dealt with strictly.
Fees:
Fees are to be paid monthly by every student. Fees will be collected on the
first Friday of every
month. Parents may send a book for a confirmation that the fees have been
received.
Forms of Discipline:
Parents are reminded that each child will be dealt according to the seriousness
of the matter. Failure
to abide by the above rules will result in reprimanding the student in any
manner which seems
necessary and appropriate by the discretion of the management.
Notes for Parents:
1. Parents are not allowed to see the Teacher of their child without prior
consent from the office. If a
parent wishes to talk to the Teacher in regards to progress, behaviour, work
etc, then it is necessary
that an appointment is first made in the office.
2. In order to make the learning of your child a successful one, it is important
that parents take an
interest in their progress as well as their learning at home. Parents are
advised to listen to their child’s
lesson at home so that they can progress smoothly in class.
3. Please notify the Madrassah if your child is going to be absent, or send in a
note the following day.
4. Parents must ensure that their child’s dressing is appropriately and clean.
Furthermore, parents
should ensure that their child does not have hair against the Shari’ah
teachings.
5. Parents are reminded that failure to abide by the above rules could result in
your child being sent
home immediately until the matter is resolved.
